The Moth & The Mirror are made up of members from an array of Scottish bands including: Stacey Sievwright (The Reindeer Section, Arab Strap) – Vocals, Guitar; Gordon Skene (Frightened Rabbit) – Guitar, Vocals; Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow, Song of Return) – Guitar, Vocals; Kevin McCarvel – Bass; Iain Sandilands – Percussion; Peter Murch – Drums.

The band formed after Stacey, Gordon, Kevin and original drummer Murdo MacKenzie were recruited as a backing band for Colin MacLeod aka The Boy Who Trapped The Sun back in 2006. Colin went on to sign a publishing contract with Universal and moved to London. Stacey, Gordon and Murdo had built up such a rapport that they decided to continue as a collective.

Frontwoman Stacey had been collaborating with percussionist Iain since 2001. She then introduced him to the rest of the band and The Moth & The Mirror were born. Murdo consequently moved to London to continue playing with The Boy Who Trapped The Sun, so they invited impresarios Louis, Kevin and Pete to join and have been going strong as a 6-piece band ever since.
