The sound and feel of the songs embodies a bygone era from the days when albums were recorded in an open and honest way with few effects or overdubs and relied more on heartfelt performances.
Ryan’s deep bass tones and almost talking style combined with lo-fi arrangements give the band a depth, a history.
Guests and friends who featured on the album include Kirsten Adamson from The Gillyflowers and Riley Briggs of Aberfeldy.
The debut CD was recorded and mixed in Aberfeldy in Craig Milton’s studio at Dunvarlich. It was mastered in Skye and pressed elsewhere, then all the hand printing and cover assembly was carried out at the Temple Studios in Aberfeldy where it is available for £10.
Lauren Laverne on BBC6 has plugged the CD and novelist Ian Rankin has described it as ‘Gorgeous, hazy, quirky Americana...’
