Posters and Vinyl and Tickets and T-shirts and Coffee and Cake

We have some great vinyl just in. First copy of Ride’s “Going Blank Again” I’ve seen in a while plus loads more. Even more posters arrived and top of the pile were some very large Nick Cave posters. We have had a huge run on our Avalanche t-shirts leaving only a few XL but more should arrive later in the week for all you medium sized people. We now have all the tickets we have for sale on the notice board and in the window and will soon have them all listed here too. A big thanks to all the bands, small promoters and Nick @ Sneaky Pete’s.  Coffee sales are building nicely and Tom was very pleased to have an Italian lady tell him how good the coffee was. We sold out of cup cakes and rocky road yesterday so you may need to settle for a Caramac today. And we also sell CDs just in case anybody is interested.

Not One Room But Two !

The back of the shop has been such a success that the room next to it which was going to be my office is now going to be opened out to the public also. It is such a great space that I couldn’t really justify it as an office so we are clearing it out and will decide over the next few weeks exactly what we will do with it. There is loads more wall space and I think we may very well get some comfy seats as the back is already getting a bit crowded sometimes.

Spook School – First success of our “get your music heard”

The guys have been slowly working through all the CDs I was given as part of our RSD “get your music heard” and first success has been Ed from 17 Seconds featuring the Spook School CD he was given as part of the package. Cheers Ed. When Matthew stops interfering with the internet I’m sure he will have something to say too.

Posters – Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Kasabian, Mogwai, Blur, Foo Fighters + many more

I’ve acquired a lot of old posters and haven’t even been able to look through them all yet but best find so far has been quite a few copies of an old Biffy Clyro poster. The Biffy poster is normal size but many of them are large fly posters.

Website Suspension Mystery Solved

You get one of his bands featured in Q and played on BBC 6 Music. You sell hundreds of his CDs, put his releases in your album club, support his gigs and plug his blog and this is the thanks.

Livingston Shopping Centre and The Rapture

McArthurGlen Designer OutletI went to the shopping centre in Livingston today to buy a pair of comfy shoes and some card for our gift vouchers. I had an immediate result in Clarks so popped over to HMV which was very quiet indeed and didn’t have a sale in the 15 minutes I was there. The Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat new album was a reassuring £15.  I then went to the newer “designer” part to get my card but couldn’t find the shop. There were so many empty shops that I couldn’t even work out where it used to be. I did pick up a nice box of chocolates for £2 and then an entire box of creme eggs for the shop. It was then that I realised that there had indeed been a mini Rapture after all beaming up all but the chocolate and shoe shops !

Eagleowl, The Scottish Enlightenment, Silver Fox @ Voodoo Rooms Wed 1st June

We now have tickets for this Limbo gig @ Voodoo rooms.

For those of you who don’t know Silver Fox it seems “they are a quartet of Geordie lasses, who can do riotously noisy as well as they do soft and gentle. A perfect warm-up act for the other two, then! (Rachel and Laura from Silver Fox also play in a band with Paul Smith from Maximo Park).”

Maybe should have kept it quiet about Maximo Park.

Noticeboard – Tickets

You can now find news of all the tickets we have on our lovely new noticeboard. Half Man Half Biscuit, Darren Hayman, eagleowl, Shonen Knife, The Last Battle + many more. We’ll be making more of an effort now that we have a decent selection so soon you should be able to see all we have on the website along with more details.
